Landscape/Portrait C19th French mirror

An elegant and striking antique mirror which we sourced in a market in northern France - the plate is original mercury and you get a lovely sparkle around the edges (as shown in the penultimate photo) with some foxing in places but nothing unexpected on a piece of this age and in proportion with the size of the mirror plate it's very small. 

The frame has been repainted in a neutral stone colour and waxed to highlight the very fine detail of the decoration that runs around it - you can tell the quality of this mirror by how fine this is.

This mirror can be landscape or portrait and the scale makes it a rather wonderful decorative feature.
