C19th Smoker's Bow or Captain's Chair

A beautiful example of a Victorian Smoker's Bow chair which is fantastically comfortable! The wide armrest gives plenty of elbow room and the shaped elm seat follows the body to create a perfect fit... This has a double H stretched which ensures the chair is structurally sound too. In excellent condition, this has a maker's mark on the back and some lovely provenence chalked onto the underside of the seat. There has been a more recent repair to the underside of the back as shown in the picture which is only visable when the chair is upside down.
