Huge antique French trumeau frame

One of the most beautiful frames we've ever seen, let alone been lucky enough to buy!

This huge trumeau frame comes from a chateau near Nantes in France and would have originally held a huge mirror. It's in completely untouched condition - the gilding (some of which has been water gilded for a deeper glow) and paint are all completely original and the quality of the detail is just stunning. Displaying classical motifs including Roman masks, swagging, garlands and laurels this is a very special decorative piece.
