Antique water-gilt frame

A beautiful antique pine frame with the most glorious original water gilt finish - a process that is painstaking and exacting so would have cost a lot but creates a far more glossy, glowing finish than normal gilding. This hasn't been gilded on the sides so perhaps it was part of a larger frame originally? Either way, it's very decorative and rather tactile.
