Antique Belgium carved swag panel

This piece is a bit of a beautiful mystery! A large wooden panel with hand-carved sumptuous laural swag with original flaky grey/white paint found in a market in Belgium - it's absolutely stunning but I have no idea what it was made for or originally part of. Maybe the mystery adds to its' appeal?! Whatever it was part of must have been something quite impressive because the scale and quality are both grand! Anyway, this would be a fabulous decorative piece and is in great antique condition.
