A gorgeous and rather large example of a vintage French oak expanding dining table with parqetry designed top and matching leaves. The leaves pull out from each end and tuck away neatly underneath the table top when not in use (no more having to store the leaves in the loft!!) – the join to the top plate on this example is particularly neat and snug. The leaves are also a good colour match to the top.
The base is painted in a typically soft French grey with white painted detailing to highlight the carved crest on either side and the soft lines of the legs and apron.
This is a comfortable 6 seater when closed and a 10 seater when open (more if you’re very friendly/skinny and on benches down either side!) This style of table has been consistantly popular because it bridges the gap between the formality of a french polished mahogany table and a rustic pine kitchen option – it’s smart enough to have a dinner party at it and relaxed enough to comfortably eat breakfast at it the next morning!
We have a set of 6 chairs available separately and can source more if required.
