Early 1900’s French marriage cushion with headdress

In stock

A beautiful and highly romantic piece of French wedding tradition – this wedding cushion, decorated with brass birds, flowers and grapes to symbolise harmony and fertility in marriage still retains the original wax blossom headdress that the bride wore on her wedding day. This would have been kept under a brass dome (from which it has sadly parted ways) which is why they are usually so well preserved. With a brass easel back to stand up.
